Q6. I.  8x+y=10                 II. 4x+2y=13

Q7. I.  (x+3) (y+2)=12              II. 2xy+4x+5y=11

Q8. I. (3x-2)/y = (3x+6)/(y+16)                  II.(x+2)/(y+4) = (x+5)/(Y+10)

Q9. I.  x^2+20x+4=50-25x                II. y^2-10y-24=0

Q10. I. (x^2-10x+16)/(x^2 -12x +24) = 2/3                 II. y^2-y-20=0

Answer & Explanation

1 – (3): Average price of all three smartphones in 2009=1/3×(13500+11500+12500)=Rs.12500
In 2010=1/3×(13000+13500+11500)=Rs.12666.7
In 2011=1/3×(14000+13500+13000)=Rs.13500
In 2012=1/3×(12500+13000+13500)=Rs.13000
In 2013=1/3×(13500+11500+14000)=Rs.13000
Hence, in 2011 the average price is the maximum for all the three smartphones.

2 – (2); Cost price of 20 Samgung, 25 LG and 30 Lenovo smartphones in 2011=20×14000+25×13500+30×13000=Rs.1007500
∴ Selling price=13300×(20+25+30)=Rs.997500
∴% loss=(1007500-997500)/1007500×100%=0.99%

3 – (4); Price of LG smartphones in 2012=Rs.13,000 and in 2013=Rs.11500
Price of LG smartphones in 2012 is ((13000×100)/11500)%=113.04% of its price in 2013

4 – (1); Income of Lenovo in 2010=20000×11500=Rs.23,00,00,000=23 crore
Income of Samsung in 2010=18500×13000=24,05,00,000=24.05 crore
∴ Reqd. difference=24,06,00,000-23,00,00,000=Rs. 10500000=1.05 cr

5 – (2); Average price of Samsung=1/5×(13500+13000+14000+12500+13500)=Rs.66500/5=Rs.13300
Average price of LG=1/5×(11500+13500+13500+13000+11500)=Rs.63000/5=Rs.12600
Average price of Lenovo=1/5×(12500+11500+13000+13500+14000)=Rs.64500/5=Rs.12900
LG has the minimum average price during the given years

6 – (2)

from both equation

x=7/12, y=16/3

y>x

7 – (5)

xy+3y+2x +6 =12

2xy+6y+4x=12—-(i)

2xy+5y+4x=11  —- (ii)

From eq. (i) — (ii)

Y = 1

From eq. (i)

x=1

x = y

8 – (2)

(3x-2)/y = (3x+6)/(y+16)

48x-8y = 32 —- (i)

(x+2)/(y+4) = (x+5)/(y+10)

y = 2x —- (i)

From Equation (i) & (ii)

x=1, y=2

y>x

9 – (5)

From the given Equation

x=1, -46

& y=-2,/2

x # y

10 – (5)

From 1st equation

x^2-6x=0

x=0,6

From 2nd equation

(y+4) (y-5)

y=-4,5

x # y
