  1. Jaipur’s “Taj Rambagh Palace” hotel has been featured in a list of top 10 heritage hotel properties in the world by Britain’s prestigious Travel Publication, ‘Travel Weekly’. Rambagh Palace has been ranked sixth in this global list.
  2. Indian Navy successfully test- fired the land-attack version of BrahMos supersonic cruise missile from Indian Naval Ship Teg, in the Bay of Bangal
    – Range :- 290 Km

– BrahMos is a joint product of India and Russia and  derived from Russian P-800 Oniks or Yakhont missile.

 

  1. India has won elections to two subsidiary bodies of a UN organ focused on social and economic issues. India along with 12 other members was elected to the Committee for Programme and Coordination (CPC), a subsidiary body of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

  1. Chinese scientist Yao Tandong has been awarded with the 2017 Vega Medal in Stockholm(Sweden) for his contributions to research on glaciers and the environment on the Tibetan Plateau.

  2. Devendra Kumar Sharma, the Managing Director of Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation, has been appointed as the chairman of Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) by Union Cabinet.

  1. Sulkhan Singh has been appointed as the new Director-General of Police (DGP) of Uttar Pradesh.
    – Replaced :- Javeed Ahmad

 

  1. Veteran actress Moushumi Chatterjee has received the lifetime achievement award, while actor Ashish Vidyarthi was honoured for his contribution to Indian Cinema at the 80th Bengal Film Journalists’ Association (BFJA) awards.
  2. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat inaugurated a 100 MW solar power plant at Bhalsawagaj in Haridwar district.

  1. Senior National Conference (NC) leader and former speaker of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Ali Mohammad Naik, passed away.          He was 87.

    10. India and South Korea signed an agreement to firm up bilateral cooperation in defence shipbuilding. Under the MoU, the two countries will nominate one shipyard each for this purpose.

– India has already picked Hindustan Shipyard Limited for this purpose (HSL)
