  1. British Sikh barrister, Jasvir Singh has received the prestigious Order of the British Empire (OBE) from Prince William for his services to the community.

2. Veteran actor Vinod Khanna passed away. He was 70.

3. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the air regional connectivity scheme ‘UDAN’ (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagarik). Under the scheme, the first UDAN flight was flagged off on Shimla-Delhi route.

4. India’s first woman International Olympic Committee member Nita Ambani has been made a member of two important commissions- Olympic Channel Commission and Olympic Education Commission of the global sport’s governing body.

5. Srishti Kaur from India has been crowned Miss Teen Universe 2017, beating out 25 other contestants.

6. Senior IPS officer Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar has been appointed as the Director General of the CRPF.

7. Director General of National Disaster Response Force, R. K. Pachnanda will be the Director General of Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force.

8. Alkesh Kumar Sharma, the CEO and Managing Director of the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (DMICDC), has been named CEO of the Year for Green Management and Future Leadership at the prestigious Golden Globe Tigers Award 2017.

9. Business schools of three IITs – Kharagpur, Delhi, and Roorkee – have featured in the top 10 list of NIRF Management ranking. The ranking was made from a total number of 542 business schools.

10. India and Sri Lanka signed an MOU on economic cooperation. MoU proposes Indian investment in a port, oil tank farm, highways and railway projects in Sri Lanka.
