- UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has selected Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai to be a UN messenger of peace, the highest honor bestowed by the UN chief on a global citizen.

- The Maharashtra government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Trusts for eliminating malnutrition in Palghar and other districts of the state.

- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch a special digital exhibition titled ‘Bapu Ko Karyanjali’ on the Champaran Satyagraha.
– April 2017 marks the centenary of the Champaran Satyagraha – Mahatma Gandhi’s first Satyagraha in India. A century ago, Mahatma Gandhi had taken several steps to improve the condition of the people in Champaran (Bihar).
- Kotak Mahindra Bank said its subsidiary (Kotak Infrastructure Debt Fund) for providing infrastructure debt fund services has been registered with the Reserve Bank of India.
- India and Russia signed a joint declaration to stimulate cooperation in the field of promoting innovation ecosystem between the two countries.
– The declaration was signed between the Department of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation on the sidelines of the Global R&D (Research and Development Summit 2017.

- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release a book ‘Matoshree’ authored by Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on April 11.
– The book covers the life and times of legendary “Devi Ahilyabai Holker” who ruled the Holkar Empire spread over the Malwa region from 1767 to 1795.
-Ahilyabai is remembered and worshipped by people for her exemplary governance, sense of justice and fairness.
- Tarun Gakhad and Sneha Rajwar were crowned champions in Under-17 PNB MetLife Junior Badminton Championship concluded at Thyagaraj Stadium,New Delhi.
- Congo(African Country) President Joseph Kabila has appointed Bruno Tshibala as the country’s new prime minister.
