- South Korea, Japan and the US held a joint naval exercise aimed at countering missile threats from North Korean submarines. The exercise began off South Korea’s southern coast near Japan, featuring multiple naval destroyers and helicopters used in anti-submarine warfare,
- Sergeant Ali Javed made history by becoming the first Muslim to join the Emergency Service Unit of the New York City Police Department (NYPD).
– With this , Sergeant Javed Has also become the first Pakistani American to join the elite services.
- The World Autism Awareness Day 2017 was observed across the world on 2 April 2017. The 2017 theme for the day is Toward Autonomy and Self-Determination.
- Pakistani pacer Mohammad Irfan has been banned for one-year. Pakistan have suspended fast bowler Mohammad Irfan for one year and fined him $1,000 after he admitted failing to report approaches by bookmakers (That takes bet on profession sports) linked to spot-fixing, cricket authorities
- Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi launched his child rights campaign in Bangladesh,aimed at mobilizing millions of children from affluent families globally to speak up for their underprivileged peers.

- Minister of Railways Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu released the book titled “Indian Railway- The weaving of a National Tapestry” jointly authored by Bibek Debroy (Member, NITI Aayog) Shri Sanjay Chadha (Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce) & Ms. Vidya Krishnamurthi.
- The Madhya Pradesh government has launched an app ‘MP e-Nagarpalika’ to provide various municipal services online.
– This app would offer 378 services like online payment of property tax, seeking building permission, birth/ marriage/death certificates etc.
– It will also register complaints related to garbage, water, streetlights etc. Online payment gateway would be available on this app,
- Julian Stanczak,(US) an artist known worldwide for his brightly colored, geometric Op (Optical Paintings) art, has died. He was 88.
